“Do not doubt yourself, conduit. One of your students won the Tournament of Sources. You ninja have proven to be most worthy of the gifts of the Source Dragons.”
— The Source Dragon to Lloyd, "Elements of Betrayal"

The Source Dragon of Motion is one of the seven Source Dragons and the source of multiple Elemental Powers, such as Water[2] and Fire.[1]

History[]

Background[]

The Source Dragon of Motion, among the seven Source Dragons, played a crucial role in maintaining balance across the realms. Each Source Dragon represented a unique source,[3] with the Source Dragon of Motion specifically embodying motion. As a result, the emergence of Elemental Powers was influenced by the Source Dragons.[4] On a fateful day, the First Spinjitzu Master approached the Source Dragon of Motion, along with her fellow dragons, and humbly implored them to willingly contribute their dragon power. This request was made in order to create the Dragon Cores, which were instrumental in averting the Coalescence,[5] an imminent event wherein all realms would merge into a single world, a consequence brought about by the immense power of the Source Dragons.[6]

Beyond the Phantasm Cave[]

Lloyd had been desperately seeking guidance from the Source Dragons to find a way to counter Shatterspin. The Source Dragons, including the Source Dragon of Motion, appeared before him in their void. Upon spotting Lloyd, the Source Dragon of Motion turned to the Source Dragon of Energy and inquired if this mortal was the one who had freed him from his long captivity. The Source Dragon of Energy confirmed that Lloyd was indeed the one. However, a sense of concern washed over the Source Dragon of Motion as she sensed the imminent danger that mortals posed.

Recognizing the Green Ninja's role as a conduit for his dragon power, the Source Dragon of Energy emphasized that Lloyd was no ordinary mortal. Though aware of their mandate to refrain from directly interfering in mortal affairs, the Source Dragon of Motion was swayed by the Source Dragon of Energy's plea. The Source Dragon of Motion made a momentous decision. They would initiate Lloyd's journey, but he would have to navigate it on his own. The Source Dragon of Motion unleashed a powerful beam of energy, enveloping Lloyd and granting him a vision of the exact location that the ninja needed to venture towards.

The Shape of Motion[]

After the murder of three Arc Dragons, the Source Dragon of Motion became aware of the situation due to the influence of her and the Life Source Dragon over the fallen dragons. Recognizing the ninja's strong connection with the Source Dragons, the Source Dragon of Motion took it upon herself to warn the ninja about the impending danger posed by the killers and to seek justice for the fallen dragons. However, her appearance in a smaller form of her mortal body led to Lloyd's distrust of her, prompting the Source Dragon of Motion to reveal her full mortal form to prove her sincerity.

The Source Dragon of Motion was concerned about the potential threat to the Source Dragons, as two of her peers had already been killed or captured before the Merge. Lloyd then informed her about the map that the Matriarch of the Mountain Dragons possessed before her demise, which the Source Dragon of Motion recognized as a map to the City of Temples. She went on to explain the significance of the Tournament of the Sources to the ninja, emphasizing the necessity for them to participate in the tournament in order to bring the killers to justice.

Enter the City of Temples (flashback)[]

The Source Dragon of Motion told the ninja that they should find a master to guide them during the Tournament of the Sources, promoting Lloyd to seek out Egalt and Rontu.

Elements of Betrayal[]

Following the Tournament of the Sources, the Source Dragon of Motion appeared before Lloyd, catching him off guard with her arrival. Lloyd expressed his regret for not meeting the expectations of the Source Dragon of Motion. However, she clarified that the purpose of participating in the Tournament was to unveil the identity of the threat responsible for the demise of the three Arc Dragons, which was the Forbidden Five, a task that Lloyd successfully accomplished. Despite this, Lloyd lamented that the Forbidden Five managed to escape. The Source Dragon of Motion reassured him that their plans have been temporarily thwarted and emphasized that, more crucially, Lloyd prevented Ras from reaching the Source Dragons. She acknowledged that her kind should now be aware of the threats within the Merged Realms facing the Source Dragons.

The Source Dragon of Motion encouraged Lloyd not to doubt his abilities, reminding him that Sora emerged victorious in the Tournament of the Sources and that the ninja had proven themselves deserving of the Source Dragons' gifts. She expressed that her kind now owed Lloyd a significant debt, explaining the Source Dragons' commitment to honoring their debts. To symbolize this bond, she used one of her scales to create a Dragon Icon for Lloyd, instructing him to call upon her in a time of true need. With that, the Source Dragon of Motion left.

Clues and Suspects[]

Lloyd was knocked unconscious by Zeatrix, which resulted in him being in a coma and experience visions. In one of his visions, the Source Dragon of Motion chased the Wolf Mask Claw Warriors, Zeatrix, and Arin away and obliterated the Blood Moon. Lloyd said he had failed the Source Dragon by losing the tournament and not having found who murdered the Arc Dragons, but she told Lloyd that he had to win.
