The Spirit of the Temple is a mystic figure in the Temple of the Dragon Cores who is full of knowledge about the history of the realms, the Merge and the Source Dragons.
History[]
Background[]
After preventing the Coalescence, the First Spinjitzu Master created the Spirit of the Temple and bestowed it the duty of protecting the Temple of the Dragon Cores.[1] The spirit was imbued with a powerful enchantment, compelling him to reveal sacred information exclusively upon the earnest plea of a direct descendant of the First Spinjitzu Master.
However, after the Merge, a quake struck, causing the altar of the spirit to topple. Consequently, the Spirit of the Temple became divided into two entities, both consumed by unbridled fury at the loss of its altar.
Dragons Rising, Season 1[]
The Temple of the Dragon Cores[]
Kai and Wyldfyre utilized their Elemental Powers to break open the wooden doors that had confined the Spirits of the Temple. The liberated spirits then launched an attack on the ninja, who retaliated with their Elemental Powers. However, their efforts were in vain as the spirits remained impervious to their attacks. Lloyd discovered the toppled altar and quickly restored it to its original state, causing the fragmented Spirits to reunite into one. The spirit expressed gratitude towards the ninja for reconstructing his altar and introduced himself. Arin pointed out that there were originally two spirits, to which the spirit explained that his essence was contained within the altar and its division caused him to become divided, leading to uncontrollable rage.
The Spirit of the Temple revealed to the ninja of the origins of the Temple of the Dragon Cores and the Dragon Cores. Zane asked the Spirit of the Temple if he could reveal the location of the Dragon Cores. The Spirit of the Temple explained that he can't since he was enchanted to only reveal the locations of the cores if one of the First Spinjitzu Master's descendants requested it. Lloyd explained that he's the grandson of the First Spinjitzu Master. The Spirit of the Temple revealed that the Dragon Cores are located in the Mother Garden, the Pinnacle of Crystals, and the Wyldness. As Lloyd thanked the Spirit of the Temple for his help, the Temple Spirit returned to his altar.
Dragons Rising, Season 3[]
Their Draconic Majesty's Request[]
The Spirit of the Temple was summoned by Ras after he desecrated the First Spinjitzu Master's statue. He was welcoming towards him and Arin, but was shocked to find the statue beheaded. Ras questioned him about whether or not it was possible to create Source Dragon Icons without gathering Elemental Powers, prompting the Spirit to confirm that it was - though he specified that the method was only to be known by descendants of the First Spinjitzu Master. Ras then revealed his own Icon, impressing the Spirit. He commented that it was almost as powerful as a Dragon Core itself, which Ras acknowledged before striking him with it and demanding the method to create the remaining Icons he needs. This caused the Spirit to be electrocuted, and both him and Arin begged Ras to stop, but he continued regardless. Unable to take the pain much longer, the Spirit ended up revealing that Icons can be made in the depths of the Underworld, specifically where the Casket of Bones and the Forge of the Forgotten are located. Satisfied, Ras released him and commented that he was "most helpful", dismissing him, causing Arin to look even more dejected. The Spirit curses them both and dubs them "villains" before returning to his altar once more, though too quickly to hear Arin clarify that he isn't a villain. Afterwards, Ras questioned why Arin would care what the Spirit thinks of him - Arin states that he doesn't want to hurt anyone, and Ras reminds him that he must be ruthless and achieve his goal of finding his parents by any means necessary.
