Spirit smoke is a precognitive substance. Using what appears to be incense sticks and ashes, it manifests as a cloud of pale gray smoke that projects images of danger in the near future.
The smoke was used by Master Wu to foresee coming events. Using the spirit smoke, he foresaw Lloyd's attack on Jamanakai Village with the Hypnobrai, as well as the Rise of the Great Devourer.

Rise of the Snakes[]
Master Wu used spirit smoke in his meditation before he was interrupted by the sound of the ninja fighting.
He later used it to see Lloyd raiding Jamanakai Village with the Hypnobrai.
The Rise of the Great Devourer[]
On route to Torchfire Mountain, Master Wu was meditating with the spirit smoke's aid to see the near future. To his dismay, the smoke showed him images of Pythor successfully awakening the Great Devourer and his own apparent death. This would lead Master Wu to separate himself from the ninja when Pythor stole the Fangblades, allowing him to personally confront the Serpentine leader and show him the foolishness of his plan, seemingly sacrificing himself when the Great Devourer consumed him and Pythor.

Trivia[]
- According to Tommy Andreasen, Wu stopped using spirit smoke because it required a specific type of tea leaves.[1]
- The Hearth Fire's ability to display visions from spirits, as well as the ice labyrinth's ability to show one's future self, are similar to the smoke formerly relied upon by Master Wu to see future events.
