Nya informs the ninja about the Temple of the Dragon Cores

The Ninja arrive at the Crossroads on their dragons to close a MergeQuake rift that was shooting out fireballs and save a car full of citizens by stabilizing the bridge they were on when a fireball struck it. Upon its closure, the Ninja return to the Monastery of Spinjitzu with Lloyd still astounded by how the dragons they rescued chose to stay as well as tried to offer some shelter for Wyldfyre, who refuses. The following morning, he tries to maintain the monastery, but rearranging the portraits in the hallway proved worthless, his laundry is getting mixed up with rubbish, his scroll work is distracting him from overlooking Arin's practice, his rebuild of the brick wall the old Destiny's Bounty had damaged was interrupted by Sora when she crashed into it in her SA Mark 01, and watering the plants was interrupted by an argument between Kai and Wyldfyre over their powers being identical and the latter's refusal to be trained by him on Lloyd's insistence, which burnt the plants and made a mess of the recreation/Arin and Sora's room, which the others try to stop them before it was soon thwarted by Zane, who demands a meeting in the hangar bay. Upon arrival, Zane states that he had been running simulations about how the MergeQuakes will consume all the merged realms with no way to thwart them. Soon, Nya, who had been researching the MergeQuakes on her own in the Cloud Kingdom, shows a map for what was called the Temple of the Dragon Cores she had found and they start to head for it, unaware that their departure is eavesdropped on by Rapton.

In Imperium, Empress Beatrix makes a false announcement, stating that the dragons the Ninja had broken out have been recaptured before warning the citizens that there will be traitors if her claim about the 'recaptured' dragons is opposed or anyone makes complaints about power shortages. After the speech, Dr. LaRow suggests reducing their current dragon power to save power since their objective is no longer hunting dragons, but Beatrix refuses and is waiting for Rapton's report.

The ninja come across the entrance to the temple

Arriving at the World Tree, the Ninja enter a hollow one and come across the entrance to the temple, where they're faced with a puzzle of three levers. Kai impatiently pulled the center lever, but nothing happens, so Zane started to study it, which takes hours, but has no luck before Arin believes the levers must be pulled simultaneously, and he, Sora, and Wyldfyre pull them, opening the temple entrance. Entering it, they come across a statue with a knocked over altar before Kai and Wyldfyre shoot out some opposing doors, leaving them open for two ghosts to appear and attack the Ninja, which to their side proved useless as their attacks simply pass through them as Rapton showed up at the temple entrance, narrowly avoiding Sora, before coming up to the entrance, but decided to wait upon hearing the noise the fight inside was giving off.

Tale of the Dragon Cores

Thinking of a solution, Lloyd heads to the altar to rearrange it before having Kai and Wyldfyre light the candles, the latter's melting half of one in the process, the ghosts stop and merge together to form a ghost called the Spirit of the Temple, who split in half when the altar was knocked by an earthquake. He then goes on to explain how the First Spinjitzu Master created not just Ninjago, but many other realms, which might end up merging together, but he consulted with the seven Source Dragons to create three Dragon Cores to keep the realms stable. When the First Spinjitzu Master passed on, the realms eventually merged and the MergeQuakes are being unstable, and the only solution is to bring the Dragon Cores together. Expressing his bloodline, Lloyd asks for their locations before the spirit points them out on some murals: The Mother Garden, the Pinnacle of Crystals, and the Wyldness. With the newly found knowledge, the Ninja depart, unaware that Rapton had eavesdropped on them.

Beatrix hatches a plan

Returning to the monastery, Lloyd continues to struggle maintaining it before Arin and Sora bring in their friend, Alfonzo Frohicky, to help out, which Lloyd accepts, dubbing him 'Assistant Keeper of the Monastery.'

After learning about the Dragon Cores' locations, Rapton reports to Beatrix, who immediately intends to use them to destroy the Ninja.

  • Lloyd watering plants is similar to his father watering Christofern in the episode of the same name.
  • Although he has not appeared yet, this episode marks the first time that Garmadon has been mentioned in Dragons Rising, also he is the first parent of the original ninja to have been mentioned or seen in the new series.

Errors[]

  • As Zane stops the fight between Kai and Wyldfyre, Kai has Lloyd's voice when he yells.
  • As the Ninja approach the altar in the temple, Sora has Kai's katana behind her back.
