(Above the water, Nya battles Kalmaar.)

Kalmaar: You have become one with the ocean! Like that Nyad. A foolish sacrifice! (He blasts Nya, but this time the blasts just go through her.) For it will gain you nothing! You cannot hope to defeat me and Wojira!

(Just then, the other ninja arrive.)

Jay: Nya!

Nya: Jay. (She lets down her guard temporarily to gaze at Jay. Kalmaar charges up his trident.)

Jay: Nya, look out! (Kalmaar's blast disintegrates Nya.) No!

Kalmaar: Destroy the ninja! (Wojira's blasts send Jay and Wu flying back. Jay grabs Wu's staff and charges forward.)

Wu: Jay, wait!

(Jay leaps onto Wojira and tackles Kalmaar, but is defeated.)

Kalmaar: A foolish attack! Your emotions blind you.

Lloyd: (He sees Merlopians behind them.) We got company!

Gripe: Attack!

Lloyd: Ninja, go! (The ninja engage the Maaray Guards.)

Cole: Ninja, go!

Kalmaar: You are weak! Enjoy your last putrid breath while you have the chance, ninja! (Suddenly, Benthomaar attacks him, and Jay returns to the roof.)

Benthomaar: Enough! I will not allow you to harm my friends!

Kalmaar: You're no match for a king, adopted brother!

Benthomaar: I am not your brother. And you will never be my king! (They attack each other.)

Kalmaar: Father should have left you where he found you. You're nothing but fish bait!

Benthomaar: You will pay for what you did to him!

Kalmaar: I think it's time I taught you some respect! (He disarms Benthomaar and breaks his spear.) Bow down to your new king! (He kicks Benthomaar off Wojira.)

Benthomaar: (He manages to send an arrow at him, destroying his trident.) You're not my king!

Kalmaar: What have you done? (Wojira's eyes turn blue.) Destroy them! Destroy them! (He strikes Wojira with his broken trident, but she flings him into the air and swallows him whole.)

Lloyd: Run!

(Wojira charges up to attack, when a ball of water strikes her. The attacker is revealed to be a dragon made of water.)

Lloyd: Is that Nya?

Kai: It sounds like her.

Cole: And she looks ticked off.

(Nya engages Wojira in the form of a dragon, but is disintegrated again, this time by Wojira's blasts.)

Jay: No! (Nya reforms herself in the sky and charges at Wojira.) Nya!

(She destroys the Wave Amulet. Wojira is electrocuted by her own powers and vanishes. Nya emerges from the water and lands on the opposite side of the roof.)

Kai: Nya!

Cole: Way to go! I knew you could do it!

Jay: Nya! You did it! (He attempts to hug her, but he passes through her.)

Kai: Ha, that's gonna take some getting used to. But we'll figure out a way to change you back. Don't worry.

Nya: Back?

Jay: To normal. You know, the old you.

Nya: Normal?

Jay: What's wrong? Are you okay?

(Behind them, the clouds part to reveal the sun.)

Nya: Do you hear it?

Jay: Hear what?

Nya: The sea. It's so loud. So powerful.

Benthomaar: It calls to her.

Jay: (He gasps when ripples pass through her.) Nya.

Nya: Sorry. It's difficult maintaining this shape.

Jay: What do you mean, "shape"? That's -- that's what you are!

Nya: What I was. Yes. (Jay looks at her worriedly.) I have to go now. I will remember you.

Kai: Remember? What are you talking about? You're not going anywhere.

Jay: Nya! Stop. Wait. Listen! Something is wrong with you. You have to concentrate. You have to focus, you have to turn back -- (Nya walks through him.) No. Don't leave me. (She pauses and turns around, taking his hand and caressing his face. She then turns to leave again.)

Wu: Nya, I implore you. Whatever you're hearing, whatever you're experiencing. Fight it, Nya. Remember who you are. Remember.

Nya: I am Nya. I am the sea. We are one.

Jay: Nya! I... I love you.

Nya: Tell my mother I understand now. That's the way the cookie crumbles. (She turns around and leaps into the sea.)

Jay: No. No, no, no! Come back! NYA!!!

(She swims through the streets and emerges for one last time. She raises her arms, causing the sea level to go back to normal.)

Nya: You are my friends. All of you. (She reenters the ocean and disappears.)

(In the Monastery, Jay stares sadly at a photo of him and Nya.)

Maya: Jay? Are you okay?

Jay: Oh. Hi—hi, Maya. I was just—doing a little dusting. Got some dust in my eyes, I think.

Maya: It's okay.

Jay: I didn't even get to say goodbye.

Maya: Neither did I.

Jay: Oh. She said to tell you something. Something about ... cookies?

Maya: Cookies?

Jay: Oh yeah. She said, "Tell my mom, that's the way the cookie crumbles."

Maya: She said that?

Jay: Yeah. Why? What does it mean?

Maya: Oh, just something between us.

(Cole and Kai come up behind them.)

Cole: Hey there.

(Jay and Maya share a smile, then head off in different directions.)

Jay: I wonder if Skylor and Dareth got the news. You think they'll come?

Cole: I think so.

Jay: I hope so. I hope everyone knows what Nya did for them. The least they can do is show up, and pay -- (He and Cole look up, surprised.)

(The courtyard is revealed to be crowded with the citizens of Ninjago City and majority of the ninja's allies. The crowd is so large that it trails down the Mountains of Impossible Height.)

Wu: We are gathered here today, to honor the memory of Nya. Inventor. Samurai X. Ninja. Master of Water. And, our dearest friend. Her courage and strength have saved us, time and time again. And although we—we were unable to save her, we will always remember her. Wherever she is now, she is in our hearts.

(Jay sniffles, and Cole comforts him. The ninja stand grimly around a large urn of water with their heads bow while some seagulls leave the monastery's roof.)

(Out in the Endless Sea, Nya is revealed to be swimming with whales, laughing as she does so.)

(Cuts to a tribute saying "Loving Memory of Kirby Morrow".)
