  • "It is revealed that Garmadon's purpose for ruling Ninjago and reaching his True Potential is because of an impending doom he saw while in the Departed Realm. Believing his love for Lloyd to be keeping him from getting stronger, he attempts to give up his love for Lloyd by taking Harumi, the one who revived him, as his daughter."

"He later tells Harumi that while in the Departed Realm, he saw an "eternal night" that could destroy his fathers realm."

Which one of his father's realms? The one he created or the one he was born in?

(Idk if he said it the episode, I was unable to watch it with sound.)

    • I think the realm was Ninjago.

Idk haven't seen the episode yet just read the wiki page.

Hrrrm I need to watch this episode now it sounds interesting

    • Either he means Ninjago or even the First Realm. I guess we'll have to wait until episode 91 comes out to find out more.

      Yeah

    • Iron Baron might want to use the Dragon Armor to control Firstbourne so that he can either use her to open a portal to the Departed Realm, and bring back all Oni (that is if he himself is Oni), or Iron Baron with the Dragon Armor might bring about this "darkness" Garmadon was harping over.

    • I'm skeptical about both ideas, though. Probably something more interning than that.

    • I love this plot twist though! The plot is getting really deep

I know right? I love the plot!

    • Same!

    • He wants to protect Ninjago, the world his father created. I think. Or at least, he hasn't shown any interest in going to the First Realm? I wonder if this will tie into what comes next.

    • Makes sense, I look forward to seeing what happens!

    • Did you guys see in episode 89 I think it was when Lloyd was saying "Please Father. Don't do this" (or something like that) Did you see how Garmadon paused? Maybe he's still got good in him or something?

Well, yeah, episode 90 talked about that and established that it wasn't just the Oni side that came back. Even evil, he still can't let go of his attachment to Lloyd.

    • Yes. In episode 90 Garmadon even says he hesitated (spoilers, I know), so that does suggest something.

    • OH MAN NEED TO WATCH THIS EPISODE SOON!

    • I have a feeling Firstbourne and Wu are gonna have trouble with whatever is coming......

    • I'm not sure but evil in the departed realm that was described the way Garmadon described it, if the Preeminent is in there it could be her. (I don't think that's it though)

    • Garmadon said the darkness in the Departed Realm upset him, didn't he? Something along the lines of it making him worry or be sad

    • Evil FSM anyone? ;)

    • Booooo the new episode had no new plot details!

      Ikr?

    • I mean the plot for season 9 is really good, it's just that some of the episodes seem like filler instead of building on the plot.

If you want to keep the audience's attention, you have to make the threats the protagonists face varied, not the same dang thing every episode.

    • I feel like season 9 would be better as a multi-part special, with 4 or 5 40 minute parts. Every episode just seems incomplete, and the cliffhangers come at the worse times. Still, like I said, the season as a whole is good, it's just that they need to refigure their episode rationing formula, and not having badly placed cliffhangers.

    • I like the plot of season 9, but I need more plot details, not just the marooned ninja walking around and the resistance just sitting at a table.

      Like, I need stuff.

    • But while there is darkness in the Departed realm what is happening to the other souls there? Like the FSM, Arcturus, Khanjikhan or Dr. Julien.

Hrrrm yeah. I never thought about that.

      Maybe they'll tell us?

    • The Oni will attack, and the FSM will return.

    • I think he saw dead Oni who tortured him.

And now the surving Oni will attack.

I don't really like the coma idea though. That would just make all the characters, plot and timeline useless

There was a theory that the entire Star Wars canon is Anakin's dream.
