“What happened? Why did Vast Industries shut the game down? The game's programmer, Milton Dyer, was a legend in the gaming industry, cranking out hit after hit after hit. Perhaps the reason has something to do with an undisclosed incident that occurred in Vast Industries on the eve of the game's release. Dyer certainly isn't talking. He's been in hiding ever since.” |
— Gayle Gossip in "Gayle Gossip: A Closer Look" |

History
At some point, Vast Industries was created and started developing games such as Lava Zombies, Turbo Street Brawler, Counter, and Conic the Ratboy. Sometime later, the head of the gaming industries, Milton Dyer, created Prime Empire. The development of Prime Empire was going well to the point where a commercial was produced. However, the game was cancelled and Vast Industries refused to release it, as the video game's first live test player, Scott, was trapped inside the game during beta testing.
