The Vengestone Guards were the soldiers of the crystal army.
History[]
The Council of the Crystal King[]
While infiltrating the Crystal Council, Lloyd came across a room filled with inanimate Vengestone Guards. While there, he accidentally knocked a few of the guards down.
The Coming of the King[]
The Overlord brought the Vengestone Guards to life by replacing parts of them with the infectious crystals. One Vengestone Guard then chased after Lloyd to the entrance of the Crystal Island, but fell off as it opened.
Crystastrophe[]
Above a farmers' village, the Overlord unleashes many Vengestone Guards and Dragonides to attack the village. The ninja try to stop them with their vehicles, but the Vengestone nullifies their Elemental Powers, and the crystals render their vehicles almost ineffective against them. Additionally, they turn most of the rice farmers into crystal zombies.
Christofern[]
After the Vengestone Guards reach Ninjago City and destroy Vinny's apartment, Garmadon shapeshifts into his Oni Form when his pet plant, Christofern takes a hit, and destroys most of the Vengestone Guards with Destruction, which causes Wu and Lloyd to realize that the Vengestone Guards' powers are ineffective against those with Oni blood.
A Lesson in Anger[]
Many Vengestone Guards continue to march through the city, and turn some more of the citizens into crystal zombies. Later, the New Ninja attempt to fight some of the Vengestone Guards, but they are quickly defeated and crystalized.
Brave But Foolish[]
Now that their vehicles have gained shields by P.I.X.A.L., the ninja use their newly-powered vehicles to destroy most of the Vengestone Guards that are closing in on a group of citizens.
Quittin' Time![]
After the Overlord split the Destiny's Bounty in half, Nya is trapped underneath some rubble. As she tries to get out, the Mechanic appears and orders the Vengestone Guards to turn her into a crystal zombie. However, Jay arrives in his Golden Dragon Motorbike and fights the Mechanic and his army while also trying to help save Nya. Their forces are soon overwhelmed when Nya unintentionally activates a fire hydrant, causing her to realize that her powers are slowly coming back. Once Nya is free, they escape the Vengestone Guards and the Mechanic.
As Wu is taken to the newspaper warehouse by the paperboys, they are attacking Jake's parents, though Wu and the paperboys are able to fight them off.
Return of the Ice Emperor[]
While searching for Zane among the streets, P.I.X.A.L. fights off some Vengestone Guards. Later, when she finds Zane, who has turned into the Ice Emperor when his holographic cloak malfunctions, they try to hide from some nearby Vengestone Guards, although Zane's voice gives them away, and just before they are attacked, Ronin and some Kryptarium inmates push them away with a bus and safely escort Zane and P.I.X.A.L.
Safe Haven[]
As Kai drags Cole out of the damaged Golden Dragon Raider and the Dragon Cruiser, he sees Pythor leading a platoon of Vengestone Guards. Kai drags Cole to an alleyway to hide, though Cole gives away their hiding place, allowing Pythor and his Vengestone Guards to attack them. However, all hope is not lost when Skylor arrives and creates a wall of Earth with her element to block off Pythor and his Vengestone Guards and allow them to escape as they try and break down the wall.
Distress Calls[]
At Ninjago Harbor, Jay and Nya place a brick on the brakes of a van and jump out of it to knock some Vengestone Guardsinto the ocean.
Blazey H. Speed drives Cole and Vinny recklessly to the NGTV building to broadcast a message to Vania and the Sky Folk, passing by several Vengestone Guards and surviving their many attacks.
An Issue of Trust[]
When Harumi reports of the ninja's whereabouts at the newspaper warehouse, the Overlord orders his Crystal Council to launch the entire Vengestone Guards and Dragonides to destroy it and leave the ninja for him. Later, the Crystal army stand by the warehouse, with the Vengestone Guards marching forward. When Jay makes a speech to resolve peace between them fails, the Resistance charge forward to the army.
Dragon Form[]
The Resistance battle the Vengestone Guards, the Dragonides and the Crystal Council. However, the Vengestone from the Crystal Warriors nullifies the ninja and Skylor's powers as they march closer to them, and all of their other attacks are rendered useless. Just when all hope seems lost however, many of the ninja's allies arrive to fight the Vengestone Guards, which allows the four main ninja to unlock their Dragon Forms. After this, their powers enable them to destroy the Vengestone Guards, and after they reclaim their respective Golden Weapons back, they begin to lose their powers, and as a result, the Vengestone Guards and the Dragonides are destroyed by the Resistance.
Abilities[]
- Power negation - The Vengestone Guards can cancel out Elemental Powers, making the user incapable of using their powers as long the Vengestone Guards are around them.
- Crystallization - The Vengestone Guards can infect anyone and turn them into crystal zombies.
