“Okay, look... I've been having dreams that are so vivid, so frightening, I hate to sleep. I've never experienced anything like them.”

The visions are a prophetic ability. It's occasionally experienced by the ninja while they're asleep. Zane, Wu, and Lloyd are the ones who most commonly have visions.

History[]

Because of his past in the Cloud Kingdom, Quanish had the ability to see the future, an ability which made him known as a fool.[3][4]

When Garmadon visited the Wyldness and struck the Gong of Shattering in the Shadow Dojo, he was propelled in the Forest of Spirits, where he found the petrified Wolf warriors, the spirits of the warriors were furious at Garmadon and gave him a vision of the Forbidden Five, Lord Argus and Zaiden Kane.[1]

Wu had visions of Garmadon's return and a few of the Ninja vehicles.[5]

Rise of the Snakes[]

While meditating with the Spirit smoke, Wu saw Lloyd terrorizing Jamanakai Village alongside the Hypnobrai, revealing to Wu that the Serpentine had been released. Although the ninja did not believe Wu's visions at first, Wu stated that the spirit smoke does not lie, immediately prompting the ninja to return to Jamanakai Village.

When Lloyd tries to attack Cinder, his visions comes on. While he ties to fight them, remembering what Rontu told him he allows the visions to flow where he see Beatrix hitting him, the symbol of the Source Dragon of Motion, Nokt breaking his golden dao sword, before allowing them to flow so he can use Rising Dragon.

The Source Dragon of Motion chases them away and obliterates the Blood Moon. She urges Lloyd to win his next fight, but he was force to withdraw due to his injuries.

Types of visions[]

Spirit smoke[]

Spirit smoke is a precognitive substance that appears to use incense sticks and ashes to manifest a cloud of pale gray smoke that projects images of danger in the near future.

The smoke was used by Master Wu to foresee coming events. Using the spirit smoke, he foresaw Lloyd's attack on Jamanakai Village with the Hypnobrai, as well as the Rise of the Great Devourer.

Zane's visions[]

Zane's visions are a product of his sixth sense and are often connected to his fears in some way. The Green Ninja vision involved his and the other ninja's fear of Garmadon returning for the Golden Weapons; his Titanium Dragon visions came from his fear of death;[6] his transformation of the Ice Emperor, which was foretold in one of his visions, could be seen as a fulfillment of his fear of losing his humanity as revealed by the Mirror of Dread in "The Explorers Club."

It is unclear if this sense comes from his Nindroid abilities or his element—or is simply a separate ability.

Conduit visions[]

These visions are merely a small part of the Source Dragons' ability to foresee events before they happen, a result of a mortal acting as a conduit for the dragon energy of a Source Dragon. These visions depict potential outcomes of future events, offering glimpses into what may transpire, as evidenced by the discrepancies in Lloyd's visions of the Blood Moon Ritual, where Ras pushed Euphrasia into the Nether-Space instead of Kai as it actually happened.

Trivia[]

  • When Zane tells all his previous visions to Jay in "Wasted True Potential," he wants to say one more that was before the vision of the Green Ninja, but that was the first. It's possible Zane had some visions before, or it's just for a joke.
  • Zane states in "Child's Play" that Nindroids don't dream, even though he used the word dream in "Never Trust a Snake." However, his prophetic sights are not dreams, but rather, visions related to his sixth sense ability.[7]
    • In "Versus," P.I.X.A.L. states "It's amazing you dream," though it was a vision, not a dream.
      • P.I.X.A.L. would later be shown dreaming in "A Cold Goodbye," which suggests she discovered the ability somewhere after the former episode. However, her dream was not prophetic like Zane's.
  • In "The Day of the Dragon", Zane hallucinates the Titanium Dragon when he is awake.
  • When asked if Zane's visions were a result of his time-displacement in the Never-Realm, Tommy Andreasen said, "NO SPOILERS!!!"[8] He later stated that the question was too speculative.[9]
  • Upon being asked about Lloyd's vision of swords in the ground, headstones, and ninja masks, Chris "Doc" Wyatt posted a tweet hosting the hidden message "THIS VISION IS IMPORTANT. IT IS A LONG GAME."[10]
