The Wolf Mask Warriors are wolf warriors who make the majority of the Wolf Clan.
When powered by the dark energy of the Gong of Shattering, they become Wolf Mask Claw Warriors.
History[]
Background[]
After the formation of the Forbidden Five, countless individuals who resided within the Wyldness were recruited to serve as the foot soldiers of the Five, forming the Wolf Clan. During this golden age of the Wyldness, these recruits were trained in the art of the Five's powerful fighting technique, Shatterspin. Once a recruit mastered the ways of Shatterspin, they were gifted with a mask infused with Chaos and formally recognized as Wolf Mask Warriors. But like their leaders, the more they used this power, the more goodness they lost in their hearts.
Under the command of the Five, the Wolf Mask Warriors assisted their masters throughout their conquest of the Wyldness with aspirations to conquer other realms as well. During these conquests, a platoon of Wolf Mask Warriors accompanied Nokt in a campaign south of the Jagged Divide, during which they conquered or razed countless villages, including one home to Zarkar and his tribe.
Following the Exile of the Forbidden Five, leadership of the clan and its warriors changed hands to Lord Argus, the strongest warrior of the clan. Although Argus was an accomplished warrior himself, he feared that an unceremonious end neared for the Wolf Clan, following the disappearance of their masters. Desperate to prevent this from happening, Argus easily fell under the sway of a mysterious sorcerer, Zaiden Kane. On one fateful day, Kane suggested to Argus that he could be the prophesized Forbidden Sixth, as he was the strongest of the Wolf Clan's warriors.
Unfortunately, since Argus lacked an elemental power, he was grotesquely transformed into a monstrous lycanthrope after ringing the Gong of Shattering, unwittingly unleashing a curse upon the Wyldness as well. With Kane now seizing control over Argus' monstrous form, the sorcerer waged war upon the Wyldness, a campaign that was stopped only through the combined might of every single warrior of the Wolf Clan. This victory, however, came at a great cost, leaving the majority of the Clan turned into stone. A few warriors however, managed to escape petrification and their descendants gave rise to the Children of the Wolf.[3]
Shatterspin[]
After Garmadon arrived in the Wyldness, seeking the power of Shatterspin for himself, he rang the Gong of Shattering in the once sealed Shadow Dojo and revived the souls of the petrified Wolf Mask Warriors, transforming them into ghosts condemned to a state of half-existence. Irritated with being awakened by an outsider, the spirits nevertheless shared their history with Garmadon and ordered him to take the Mallet of Shattering as far from the Wyldness as possible. When Garmadon refused, the spirits rebuked him but conceded the possibility that the once mighty Wolf Clan could be restored through him.
Afterwards, the spirits would periodically commune with Garmadon, teaching him the ways of Shatterspin while requesting his assistance in passing on the art to the Children of the Wolf. At one point, the spirits appeared before Asa, the youngest of the children, after the boy wandered into the Shadow Dojo. Sensing that he carried the spark of elemental power, the spirits implored for him to ring the Gong of Shattering and to claim his destiny as the prophesized Forbidden Sixth. When Asa fainted from the haunting experience and was subsequently taken away by the Lycan King, the spirits resigned themselves to reliance on Garmadon for their release.
After Asa's sacrifice, which led to the deaths of Zaiden Kane and the Lycan King, the petrified Wolf Mask Warriors were restored to life. They then accompanied their descendants in seeking out Garmadon and bid him farewell when the latter returned to Ninjago. Before he left, the Warriors expressed their gratitude to Garmadon and bestowed him with the Mallet of Shattering, requesting once more for him to take it with him to Ninjago, far away from the Wyldness. The Warriors then rallied around Zuri as their new leader and vowed to rebuild their lives and future, far from the Shadow Dojo and the shadow of the Forbidden Five.
Between events of The Blood Moon[]
After Ras unlocked the Shadow Dojo and its secrets, he set off to build his own faction of the Wolf Clan. Using the masks and uniforms the original clan had left behind, Ras assembled his own army of Wolf Mask Warriors, intending to use them to achieve his master's aims.

When the ninja fight the Wolf Clan in Cloud Kingdom, Ras hits the gong repeatedly, first to activate the Wolf Mask Claw Warriors and then to showcase Cinder's Shatterspin.
Beyond the Phantasm Cave[]
The Wolf Mask Warriors continue to guard the Writers of Destiny, forcing them to keep translating the the Theroxian texts. Several of them accompanied Ras, Cinder, and Jordana when they had the monks turn the Cloud Kingdom engine to their destination to find the spell for the ritual, which caused the archives to break from the other parts of the Cloud Kingdom.
Force From the East[]
Several Wolf Mask Warriors came down a chain of the Cloud Kingdom's anchor to attack the Finders in the Land of Lost Things. The Wolf Mask Warriors succeeded in getting Bonzle but Cole came in his Elemental Golem form and hindered their efforts. Seeing from Jordana's crystal ball, Ras orders a Cloud Monk to use the mallet on the gong, transforming the Wolf Mask Warriors in the Land of Lost Things into Wolf Mask Claw Warriors.
The Spell at the Waterfall[]
Two Claw Warriors followed the Finders through the Portal gate but were thrown back by Cole and Zane.
Fugitives From Madness[]
As the Blood moon appears, the Wolf Mask Warriors all gather to see it rise.
Secrets of the Wyldness[]
The Wolf Mask Warriors all began to head into the Wyldness to the Shadow Dojo.
When Jiro landed in the Wyldness, Zane heard footsteps, where two Wolf warriors pass by them. One of the warriors starts to walk the bushes the group was hiding in but they cover themselves with leaves and the warriors walk away. Later once Cole, Zane, Bonzle, and Gandalaria got to Gandalaria's Magical storagehouse they were nearly caught by four Wolf warriors.
The Forest of Spirits[]
The Wolf Mask Warriors were told to head to the Shadow Dojo to make arrangements for the upcoming Ritual of the Blood Moon. As they were on their way to the Shadow Dojo, a few of the Wolf Mask Warriors spotted Kai, Sora, and Wyldfyre, which led to a confrontation between the two groups. In the midst of the feud, some of the Wolf Mask Warriors attempted to sabotage the Climber Mech by cutting its wires, but were thwarted by Wyldfyre, who knocked them off. Another Wolf Mask Warrior tried to attack Wyldfyre, only to be pushed off a cliff by Sora. By the end of the fight, the remaining Wolf Mask Warriors were incapacitated, allowing Kai, Sora, and Wyldfyre to don their costumes as disguises to infiltrate the Ritual of the Blood Moon.
Subsequently, the Wolf Mask Warriors reached the Shadow Dojo to make final preparations for the ritual, with one of them being tasked to play the drum while others positioned the trapped Bonzle on the pedestal.
Rising Ninja[]
Ras gave orders to a Wolf Mask Warrior to hit the Gong of Shattering in order to start the Ritual of the Blood Moon. When the warrior hit the Gong, the rest of the Wolf Mask Warriors transformed into Claw Warriors. Despite this Wyldfyre, Kai, and Sora manage to hold off the fighters, allowing Euphrasia and four Cloud monks to escape. One of the Claw Warriors damaged Kai's Elemental Fire Mech and Cinder damaged Sora's Elemental Tech Mech. Nya, Lloyd, Arin, and Riyu show up, with Ryue showing his ability to fly, throwing a Claw warrior at Ras, who easily dodged it while saying the Blood Moon incantation.
Cinder stole a Wolf Mask from a Claw warrior when Wyldfyre destroyed his Wolf Mask with Heat.
When Ras knocked Kai into the Nether-Space, this manage to released Nokt, where the Wolf Mask Claw Warriors bow to him.
Lloyd used Spinjitzu to take out several Claw Warriors and preform Rising Dragon to fight Cinder. Arin and Riyu continue fighting the Wolf Mask Claw Warriors as Nya and Lloyd use Rising Dragon against Nokt and Cinder.
When the Nether-Space portal closed, Ras called to his master, who teleported Ras, Nokt, an unconscious Cinder, and the Shadow Dojo to an open field. Once there, the Claw warriors watched as Ras placed a control device on Nokt before his master contacted him.

The Final Game[]
After the tournament's victory ceremony was interrupted and Nokt betrayed Ras, a legion of Wolf Mask Warriors and Cinder called by Ras invade the Games Plaza. One warrior strikes the Gong of Shattering, transforming the legion of Wolf Mask Warriors into Wolf Mask Claw Warriors. While the Wolf Warriors were supposed to intimidate Nokt and Rox in order to force them to cooperate, Rox had no difficulty in corrupting them with Theroxian magic, being the one who created their masks. Under Rox's control, the wolf warriors tapped into their full power, unleashing energy claws in their new state.
Elements of Betrayal[]
The corrupted Wolf Mask Warriors attacked the Ninja, Elemental Masters, and Ras while Nokt and Rox fled to the Monastery of Gates to complete their plan. Later, after Roby uses the Elemental Cup to return the elemental powers back to their masters, the Wolf Mask Warriors were eventually defeated. Later on, they were all thrown into Vengestone cages with Cinder and Bleckt as Sora is crowned the winner of the tournament.

Trivia[]
- Although their claws bear a close resemblance to part 88811 in the show, they are represented by part 10187 in the sets. This is likely due to the former piece being out of print since 2018.
- The way their claws retract from their gauntlets when they transform appears to be similar to that of Wolverine from X-Men.
