The wolf warriors[2][3] (also known as the Wolf Masks[4] and the Wolf Hunters[5]) are the infantry soldiers of the Wolf Clan. As each of their names suggest, they are beings native to the Wyldness who don masks, with most of them wearing Wolf Masks.
History[]
Background[]
The wolf warriors were established by the Forbidden Five during the inception of the Wolf Clan, marking the beginning of a significant era. Under the guidance of the Forbidden Five, the wolf warriors experienced a period of unparalleled success and development, as they received rigorous training. Those who demonstrated unwavering loyalty to the Forbidden Five were honored with a Wolf Mask, symbolizing their commitment. However, the immense power wielded by the Forbidden Five ultimately led to their own corruption, which also tainted the wolf warriors, turning them into agents of malevolence. In their newfound darkness, the wolf warriors aided the Forbidden Five in wreaking havoc throughout the Wyldness, compelling all inhabitants to either submit to their rule or face annihilation.
Following the banishment of the Forbidden Five to the Nether-Space, Lord Argus, the most devoted member of the Wolf Clan, endeavored to uphold their legacy and lead the wolf warriors. Yet, under the influence of Zaiden Kane, the new leader struck the Gong of Shattering in an attempt to execute the full power of Shatterspin. But because he lacked the status of an Elemental Master, this act resulted in a curse that transformed him into the Lycan King, bringing ruin upon himself and the Wyldness. In a desperate attempt to thwart Zaiden and the Lycan King, who was now under the sorcerer’s dominion, the wolf warriors fought valiantly. Although they succeeded in driving Zaiden from the Wyldness, the consequence of their struggle was their petrification. Nevertheless, a few among the wolf warriors evaded this fate, ensuring the survival of their lineage and leading to the emergence of the Children of the Wolf.
When Garmadon arrived and threw the Mallet of Shattering at the gong, he awoke the wolf warrior ghosts, who warned him of the dangers he unleashed. Nevertheless, the spirits taught Garmadon the ways of Shatterspin and charged him with passing on the teachings to the Children of the Wolf.
Following Zaiden Kane’s defeat by Asa, the wolf Warriors who were petrified for centuries were freed from the curse. The wolf warriors then chose Zuri to be their new leader and one of them gave Garmadon the Mallet of Shattering in hopes that it will be hidden safely.[6]
Dragons Rising, Season 2[]
Ras assembled his own army of wolf warriors after gaining Source Dragon energy from Jordana and the Mallet of Shattering from Cinder. The Wolf warriors took part in the Cloud Kingdom invasion, where they were initially confronted by Euphrasia and later by the ninja. Empowered by Ras using the Mallet and Gong of Shattering, the Wolf Mask Warriors undergo transformations, notably into Wolf Mask Claw Warriors, as they are summoned for various missions.
Their primary role is to guard the Writers of Destiny and force them to translate the Theroxian texts for an important ritual while aiding Ras in his quest to conquer the Source Dragons. The Wolf warriors also play a significant role in the Ritual of the Blood Moon, such as making preparations for the ceremony and transforming into powerful Claw Warriors through the Gong of Shattering.
During their journey, they encounter resistance, including a clash with Kai, Sora, and Wyldfyre, who manage to thwart some of their sabotage attempts and infiltrate the ritual by assuming a few of the warriors' identities. Despite being defeated, the wolf warriors continue their mission, assisting Ras in the Tournament of the Sources and later, participating in an attack on the Games Plaza. However, when Rox corrupts them with Theroxian magic, the warriors become even more powerful, being compelled to turn on Ras and attack the ninja and Elemental Masters.
In the end, the corrupted wolf warriors are defeated after the Elemental Cup restores the Elemental Masters' powers, and they are imprisoned in Vengestone cages. However, some of them managed to escape imprisonment.[1]
Dragons Rising, Season 3[]
During the spectral invasions, the wolf warriors' souls were taken by the Forbidden Five and Spectral Dragonians.[1] However, after Thunderfang's final defeat, they managed to regain their souls.
Appearance[]
Most of the wolf warriors seen in the show wear dark blue, azure, and purple robes with purple gloves, gray belts, a black sash with the word “wolf" written in light blue in Ninjargon, gray pants and teeth held by a dark gray cord on their right hip, a Wolf Mask with a dark blue hood underneath, and dark blue and purple boots. They were often common foot soldiers where Wolf Mask Warriors wielded Rageblades or when the mask empowers them, they become Wolf Mask Claw Warriors and manifest claw gauntlets. When Rox empowered them with Chaos, the warriors’ uniforms changed into red and gunmetal gray armor-like suits with purple cloths bearing red symbols, gray platings that bear the Wolf Clan symbol, and red belts while manifesting Energy claws.
Symbols[]
The symbol of the Wolf warriors resembles a light blue wolf-like ouroboros outlined in dark purple.
Culture[]
The wolf warriors start as low-ranking Wolf Mask Guards before they are promoted to Wolf Mask Warriors, in which they are granted a Wolf Mask which symbolizes their unwavering loyalty to the Forbidden Five.

Cutting-edge villain[]
The Wolf Hunter carries anything that is sharp or pointed. He uses his claw whip to keep his opponents at a distance and if anyone gets in his way, his claws come into play. No one gets away without a scratch![5]

Trivia[]
- The Wolf Mask Guards are the only ones that lack Wolf Masks. This reflects their status as the lowest-ranking members among the wolf warriors until they receive one.[7] In the sets, they are unique in not having their design replicated for the Wolf Mask Warriors with an extra accessory, unlike the Wolf Mask Claw Warriors and the Wolf Mask General.
- In the show, the hoods that the Wolf Mask Warriors wear underneath their Wolf Mask are not azure like in the sets, but dark blue like those worn by the Wolf Mask Guards, reflecting their identity as Wolf Mask Warriors without the masks.
- The teeth that hang from the waists of the wolf warrior suits bear a striking resemblance to the teeth that hung from the waists of several Anacondrai Cultists.
- In Shatterspin and the sets, the wolf warriors are depicted as human characters. However, Chris "Doc" Wyatt suggested that the wolf warriors also include other inhabitants of the Wyldness, not just humans.[8]
- When under Rox's control, the wolf warriors' energized forms resembled Thunderfang in appearance, as they both share a red and purple color scheme.
