“I realize now, if the world can't have you, it can still have awesomeness you put out into the world. It can have what Kai the Red Ninja means, even if it can't have the real you. And what I mean by that is – I'm gonna become the new Red Ninja and I'm gonna carry on your teachings and your bravery and your awesomeness.”
Wyldfyre (nicknamed Wyfy by Roby[1]) is the current Elemental Master of Heat, a ninja student, and Roby's girlfriend. She is a feral child raised by a tribe of Lava Dragons in the Lava Wastes. She came to the Wyldness via a mysterious crash landing, where she was raised by her Caregiver bot and Heatwave. Following the Merge, Wyldfyre assumed the role of the Elemental Master of Heat. When the Claws of Imperium managed to capture Heatwave, Wyldfyre ventured into Imperium, though she herself was later captured. Lloyd rescued Wyldfyre from the Imperium Prison, but she was initially hostile and attacked him, mistaking him for an oppressive Imperian. However, upon witnessing Lloyd's efforts to save her from the Imperium Guards, Wyldfyre formed an alliance with him. Together, they worked towards liberating the majority of dragons captured by the Claws. She then joined the Ninja team.
Later, she and Kai ventured into the Wyldness to retrieve the purple Dragon Core. However, they were ambushed by the Lava-Tides, Dorama and his stagehands. Fortunately, with Heatwave's help, they managed to escape and obtain the Dragon Core. To their dismay, they later realized that said Dragon Core was a counterfeit, and Dorama possessed the genuine one. In response, Wyldfyre, along with the other ninja, returned to Imperium to retrieve the Cores and joined the Resistance to thwart Beatrix. Following the MergeQuake Storm, Wyldfyre and Kai discovered that they possessed different elemental powers.
Around a year after joining the team, Wyldfyre accompanied them to the Cloud Kingdom, where they encountered Ras and the Wolf Clan. A battle ensued, leaving Wyldfyre with a broken leg. Despite this, Wyldfyre stowed away aboard the Destiny's Bounty, eager to learn Spinjitzu and Rising Dragon, but Rontu told the former to rest her injuries and revealed to her that she is the master of Heat. During the others' training, Wyldfyre discovered Egalt was suffering from Wasting Sickness and was able to get him to open up before the Blood Moon arose, turning both dragons to stone. Returning to her home realm, Wyldfyre, along with Kai and Sora, attempted to infiltrate the ritual that would bring back the Forbidden Five. They freed the sacrifices using disguises to blend in. They managed to stop the ritual, but at the cost of her mentor, Kai, being sent to the Nether-Space. During her need to vent her anger, Wyldfyre discovered three baby dragons and took them to their mother. She then returned to the Monastery of Spinjitzu and aspired to take on Kai's mantle as the Red Ninja.
After learning three Arc Dragons have been murdered, Wyldfyre and the ninja infiltrate the City of Temples to find the culprit. There, the ninja meet Roby, with whom Wyldfyre developed a relationship. During the tournament, Wyldfyre faced Cinder but lost, resulting in the loss of her Elemental Powers. After a few days, Wyldfyre joined the investigation of the Arc Dragons' deaths, only to discover that the tournament was rigged by Bleckt. With the help of an Elemental Master named Zur, she managed to thwart Ras' plan. When the rest of the Forbidden Five were released, Wyldfyre and the ninja attempted to fight back. As Kai returned, Roby took the seized powers from Nokt and restored them to their rightful owners, including Wyldfyre. The Forbidden Five then retreated, taking Ras with them, with Arin following after him, leaving them marooned in another realm after the destruction of the portal gate. Wyldfyre reunited with Kai, and she and Roby officially become a couple before Wyldfyre returned to the monastery.
Weeks later, Wyldfyre joins Kai and Nya on their search for Jay, which leads gets into trouble with Lightning-Tides and ultimately leads them to a clue. However, their search is interrupted when Kur and Dragonian Trackers attack the City of Temples to find a Prismatic Blade, leaving Roby decayed in the process. While Kai and Nya reunite with the other ninja, Wyldfyre stays, looking for a method to heal her boyfriend. She eventually discovers that her heat can be a cure and she successfully saves him. Afterwards she catches up to the other ninja in the First Land just after the forbidden five collect all the prismatic blades, which leads to a battle between the ninja (alongside Arin and Jay) and Thunderfang. After Arin kills the Shatter Dragon, he and Sora go with Ras in hopes of bringing back Arin's supposedly dead parents. But when the ninja return to the monastery with Jay, the latter discloses that Arin's parents are still alive.
After the victory party, Wyldfyre attended Egalt's funeral before joining Jay, Lloyd, and Nya at the Administration. They ventured to the Land of Lee in search of Barry and Jenny, where she encountered severe brainwashing tactics, leading to her own imprisonment. Wyldfyre discovered Thunderfang was alive and planned to become a Source Dragon. The group escaped as they reunited with Arin and Sora. To stop Thunderfang, they sought Bleckt's help in the City of Temples to summon the Arc Dragon of Focus by ringing the bells in the Caves of Bells. To awaken the dragon successfully, Wyldfyre joined Sora, Riyu, and Frak at the Cave of Bells in Djinjago, where they battled Kur while Thunderfang was defeated by the Arc Dragon of Focus, controlled by Lloyd and Arin. However, her powers were affected by the Source Dragons who withdrew from the council. Ultimately, Wyldfyre, Sora, Frak, and Riyu were stranded in the Merged Lands.
From "Mindless Beasts" to "Rising Ninja", Wyldfyre wore a celadon robe with maroon highlights over two shirts, one red and one orange, maroon pants, tan knee pads, and an orange cloth around her waist with both sides of her hips covered by a gray samurai armor's haidate, held together with a red rope tied around a bone. She had slightly unkempt shoulder-length red hair with parts of it tied into a bun by a crescent-shaped bone on her head and straight bangs with longer pieces framing her face. She has bushy eyebrows, a burn scar on her left cheek, and what appears to be a scar on her lower lip.
She gave the bone in her hair to the baby Lava Dragons.
From "The Shape of Motion" and onward, she wore her Tournament of Sources suit because she decided to take the mantle of the "red ninja." Her suit consisted of a sleeveless red kimono-inspired robe with celadon green accents, an orange undershirt and matching belt, red knee straps, and bronze colored armor on her chest and shoulders. She also added on black gloves and switched to a neatly combed half up half down hairstyle.
As a child, Wyldfyre's unkempt hair was similar, but only went down to jaw length, and her face had no scar. Her clothes were also similar, except her shirt had a patched up gray cloth around the lower right part, a cloth of the same color tied around the waist, a rope secured by itself, and sleeves that were short to expose her orange shirt that had patches on both sleeves and her pants.
As a baby, Wyldfyre was simply wrapped in a small celadon blanket.
Personality
Wyldfyre is hotheaded with a short temper and very limited patience bred from a life raised in the wild. She would rather fight than use her head, even when she has no chance of winning and the odds are severely against her. She's also unintentionally disrespectful as she insulted Kai upon meeting him and seeing him use his powers for the first time. She has no filter and usually says whatever comes to mind, no matter how it may come across. Despite her flaws, Wyldfyre is always willing to lay down her life and listen to reason if it means protecting Heatwave or her new found family. Before, the dragon was the only being she cared about until she met the ninja. She learned to appreciate and care for them and show particular affection for her mentor Kai. When he disappeared into Nether Space, she cried alongside Nya, indicating that she does have concern for him. Despite the loss of her mentor, she used this as an opportunity to get closer to other members of the team such as Nya. She shows empathy for others throughout the show, displaying that she can be caring despite being seemingly self-centered. She also enjoys playing pranks on others, often not realizing how hurtful or dangerous they can be.
Heat: As an Elemental Master of Heat, Wyldfyre can create and manipulate heat, which she can also manifest as blue flames. She mostly uses this ability in the form of fireballs, heat attacks, or fire walls. Initially, her power was thought to be Fire, since they share many similarities. While she initially had terrible precision, Wyldfyre managed to blast Sora and Kai's Wolf Masks off after training under Kai for a year.
Wyldfyre vs Wolf warriors
Combat: Although Wyldfyre had no formal training, she was taught to fight and defend herself by her dragon family, making her a formidable opponent. She gradually improved while being trained under Kai, managing to take on several Wolf warriors in "Shattered Dreams" and later in "Rising Ninja" where she managed to take out a large number of Wolf warriors, though she didn't have a mech, unlike Kai and Sora. Even when powerless, Wyldfyre managed to fight Chaos-empowered Wolf warriors.
Multilingualism: Having been raised by dragons, Wyldfyre can understand and communicate with them. She can also speak basic English but has a limited vocabulary, and she learned how to understand the Devonian language from Zur.
Pilot/Driver skills: Although Wyldfyre had lived her younger years in the Wyldness raised by dragons, she then acquired piloting and driving skills, driving brilliantly the Mech Storm Rider and her own mech. She also drove the Temple Bounty with clumsiness which led to her fellow Ninja teammates often criticizing her reckless driving. However, her driving skills improved overtime while piloting the bounty.
Weapons
Dragon Hook: Wyldfyre used a Dragon Hook, channeling her elemental power to climb mountains.
A long time ago, Heatwave rescued and raised a child who survived a plane crash. The baby's name was Wyldfire.
A team
Wyldfire, the Elemental Master of Heat, and her dragon Heatwave have been separated for a long time. After the Merge, Dragon Hunters captured and imprisoned him. With Lloyd's help, Wyldfire frees her dragon again.
Wyldfyre
Wyldfyre is known for her impatience and a quite fiery temper. Throw a broken leg and a serious case of FOMO into the mix and this fire-spewing Elemental master of heat is NOT so happy. Can the ninja trust that this wild warrior will do what she’s told and rest up?
Wyldfyre is a new Elemental Master of Heat. She was brought up by dragons so her personality is erratic, impulsive and fierce. Without thinking she will jump into battle to protect her family.
Half of her name, 'Wyld', comes from part of the name of the titular realm in which she grew up in, and the second half, 'fyre', shares the same spelling as Tygafyre, Tormak's bow.
She is the first and only ninja that has never worn a hood or bandanna.
She's the only ninja whose biological parents are unknown and were never shown.
She's the only ninja whose birth name is unknown, as her name was given to her by her dragon family.
She is the only ninja whose realm she was born from is unknown. In The New Heroes, it was said that she came from another planet. However, when Kevin Burke was questioned about this, he clarified that no one, not even Wyldfyre, knows her backstory. He emphasized that any information shared about her past is merely speculation.[7]
