Wyldfyre: Return to the Wyldness is a canon[2] Ninjago: Dragons Rising comic that was featured in an Issue of the LEGO Life Magazine. It is a part of the Wyldfyre series.
Plot[]
Lloyd runs in on Wyldfyre, who is using her elemental power of heat in order to destroy several wooden crates, in an attempt to stop her. He tells her that they store important items inside the crates, and that he understands her frustration with the imprisonment of her mentor, Kai, in the Nether-Space. However, he also expresses his disdain for the destructive toll her anger takes on the monastery, which she denies having done. Lloyd gets a flashback of Cole extinguishing flames from the training ground, and Nya doing the same thing but for several large bookcases yet continues his sympathy for Wyldfyre and her emotions about Kai. She huffs away, stating that she doesn't have feelings, but only fireballs and rage, which Lloyd quickly identifies as an emotion before offering to talk.
Soon, Wyldfyre approaches Heatwave and expresses that she feels as though Kai was the only ninja that understood her, and that she didn't know her place on the team without him. She grumbles about Lloyd telling her that she's experiencing feelings, but that she doesn't feel anything, not even tiredness as she falls asleep on Heatwave.
When Wyldfyre wakes up, she's on Heatwave's back, and recognizes that they're flying towards their home in the Wyldness, realizing that it would be a good idea to get away from her everyday stresses. Upon landing, Wyldfyre finds three lost baby dragons in a cave and makes it her mission to help return them to their families. Carefully avoiding the lava beneath them, she lets the baby dragons hold onto her as she swings from one rock to another on a vine. However, disaster strikes as she realizes that a trio of fire spiders are blocking their way out. Smugly, she prepares a fireball, but remembers that webs weaved by fire spiders are fireproof. She recalls Kai's teachings about using the surrounding environment to help her and gets an idea about using the vines to catapult the baby dragons and herself out of the cave. After doing so, they break through the webs of the fire spiders, scaring them away, and Wyldfyre and the baby dragons successfully reach the entrance of the cave, celebrating their victory.

- The comic is set after Kai was banished to the Nether-Space in "Rising Ninja."
- The comics parts that were mentioned in Wyldfyre's Voice Notes but didn't appear in Return to the Wyldness, such as Wyldfyre leaving the monastery and confronting Fire spiders.
- This is the first time seeing Cole controlling what seems to be dirt or sand and not rocks.
Errors[]
- While the comic takes place after the events of the first part of Season 2, Lloyd and Cole are wearing their Merge suit while Nya wears her Dojo suit.
- The Dragon stables are illustrated differently than how they are shown in the show, closer resembling the Monastery's interior.
