Zane's holographic cloak is an ability used by Zane to disguise himself as anyone or anything. He primarily used it to switch to his human form during a battle.

History

Sons of Garmadon

The Mask of Deception

As Kai and Zane fight The Mechanic, he uses his Ice to freeze him before de-activating his cloak. When they are introduced to Harumi inside the Royal Palace, she refers to him as an android before Zane corrects her, changing from his human cloak to titanium.

The Jade Princess

Sometime before the raid at the Royal Palace, Zane changed from his titanium form to his human form. Later, when Lloyd and Harumi narrowly escape from the Sons of Garmadon on the Destiny's Bounty, Zane changed back to his titanium form.

The Oni and the Dragon

Zane and Cole prepare to enter Laughy's, but Cole claims they need disguises and names first. Zane then gives himself a Sons of Garmadon outfit, calling himself "Snake Jaguar."

Snake Jaguar

Zane disguises himself as Ultra Violet to meet up with Cole, who the Sons of Garmadon are holding captive. Later as he joins the others in a race on motorcycles, he switches from his "Snake Jaguar" cloak to his titanium, revealing his identity as a ninja. He and Mr. E's bikes collide, and the impact turned him back into his titanium form.

Big Trouble, Little Ninjago

Before taking on the Colossus, Zane switches from his titanium form to human form.

Hunted

Green Destiny

When the ninja celebrated their overthrow of Garmadon, Zane has his human cloak.

March of the Oni

When Zane, Cole, and P.I.X.A.L. were awarded the Destiny's Bounty, Zane was in his human cloak.

Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu

The Explorers Club

Zane uses his cloaking abilities to disguise himself as Clutch Powers. He also briefly disguises himself as Sorla despite not knowing about her at the time.

Crystalized

The Benefit of Grief

Zane uses his cloak to switch to his human form so that Sally did not recognize them, but later deactivated it to prove that they were the ninja in an attempt to calm her down.

Return of the Ice Emperor

Having crashed his jet, Zane cloak was damaged and cloaked him into Clutch Powers, Akita, Racer Seven, Bethomaar, and The Ice Emperor.

Trivia

• The D.B. Express has a similar ability.
• There are moments when his human and titanium form's voice get switched.
• In both seasons 8 and 9, he retains his pre-Season 8 eyebrow design with pointed inner edges, but he has the straight line eyebrow design used in the sets (from his movie counterpart) when in his "Snake Jaguar" form and in both his cloaked and titanium forms in Season 10.
• The idea was inspired by Zane's voice actor Brent Miller saying he preferred his voice with no robotic effect, so the show creators came up with this idea to have them both.
• According to Tommy Andreasen, the reason Zane no longer uses his human appearance is that he only used it on missions, not in private.
