They were torturing this dragon. I had to do something.”

Zanth is a Djinjagan Dragon. She later ventured to Imperium, where she unfortunately fell into captivity and was subsequently transported to the Advanced Systems Lab. Within the lab, she was designated as Subject 152 stroke 9A, or commonly known as Sora.

She was released from her captivity during the Liberation of Imperium by Sora who she had met several years before, and she started to live with the Ninja in the Monastery of Spinjitzu.

History[]

Background[]

Being from the realm of Djinjago, Zanth forged a strong bond with a djinn named Arrakore, they both participated in the Battle of Two Skies.[1] However, her travels led her to Imperium where she was captured by the Claws of Imperium. Her dragon power was then exploited to fuel the kingdom's operations. While in captivity at the Advanced Systems Lab, she was bestowed with the name "Sora" by the scientists, owing to the loss of her family.[2][3]

Return to Imperium (flashback)[]

Upon her science project, called Photac, winning at her school's competition, Ana was brought to Dr. LaRow's lab, where she introduced her to Sora, who was in confinement, being used to power Imperium. When Dr. LaRow used Zanth's energy to change her Photac projection, Ana refused to work for her, resulting in everyone, including her parents, shunning her. After running away from home after the Merge, Ana changed her name after the name given to the dragon.

Dragons Rising, Season 1[]

Mindless Beasts[]

Zanth appeared in Rapton's recruitment video for the Claws of Imperium, being referred to as Rapton's "best buddy." In the last few minutes of the video however, she snarls at Rapton and startles the dragon hunter.

Zanth was later brought to Dr. LaRow's lab, with the threat of her torture used to coerce Sora into recalibrating the photacs. However, Sora instead reconfigured the device to incapacitate LaRow and Dorama, buying her time to free Zanth, the two then proceeding to attempt to escape the facility. Unfortunately, after many wrong turns and dead ends thanks to Sora, the pair found themselves inside a hanger where they were confronted by Rapton and a small squadron of Claws Hunters. In the brief struggle that followed, Zanth and Sora were defeated and brought back to LaRow's lab, where Ras informed Sora that Zanth's energy would be drained until Sora completed the photacs.

I Will Be the Danger[]

Sora managed to free Zanth after knocking out Dr. LaRow with an inactive photac, then tricking Dorama into striking the control panel for Zanth's cell. Sora rode atop of Zanth as they escaped into the city and regrouped with the others, where Sora explained her plan to shut down the photacs. Seconds later, Zanth and the Earth Dragon would be rammed into by three Photacs wolves, hurling off their Ninja riders. After Lloyd ordered Sora and Arin to find Riyu, Zanth stayed behind to participate in the battle, seen squaring off against a Photac.

The Calm Inside[]

Zanth helped Sora and Arin find Riyu. After bringing the teenagers to the security station, Sora told Zanth to rejoin Lloyd and the other dragons in their fight against Imperium forces, to which the latter complied.

Zanth and the other dragons later participated in an attack on the Imperium Palace, where in the opening stages of the battle, Zanth was the first dragon to be attacked by Ras.

The Battle of the Second Monastery[]

Zanth continued to battle the Claws of Imperium with the other dragons and Ninja. When Wyldfyre communicated with the other dragons, Zanth was pinned down but was saved by a Mountain Dragon and she then retreated with the other dragons into the Monastery of Imperium where they waited until the Ninja manage to activated the portal gate, by using Lloyd as a conduit from the Source Dragon. Once the portal was activated, she went through the portal gate to the Monastery of Spinjitzu. Then Zanth as well as the other dragons released from Imperium, started living in the Dragon stables under the Monastery.

The Temple of the Dragon Cores[]

Sora rode Zanth to assist the Ninja at the Crossroads to close a MergeQuake rift.

Later Sora rode Zanth to the Temple of the Dragon Cores where she fell asleep while waiting for Zane to find a solution to unlock the temple door within the World Forest. After the Ninja entered the temple, Zanth and the other dragons waited outside, falling asleep. Zanth however would be briefly roused by the sound of Rapton's nearby bumbling, but failing to spot him, she returned to sleep.

Gangs of the Sea[]

Zanth was in the hangar bay as the ninja were discussing the Dragon Cores and splitting up into three teams. Believing that Nya had called her name, "Sora" descended next to the ninja. However, Nya clarified that she was actually referring to the Master of Technology, not the dragon. Despite the clarification, both Soras remained perplexed and unsure. Frustrated, Nya emphasized that both Soras were coming along.

Wyldly Inappropriate[]

Sora rode Zanth while Nya rode Jiro as they searched for the Yellow Dragon Core. Upon their arrival to the Pinnacle of Crystals, however, they discovered that the core was gone.

The Last Djinn[]

Upon Nya and Sora's failed attempt to utilize the Seeker Stones, Zanth's senses picked up on something amiss. With a closer examination of the markings on their hands, Zanth quickly deduced that the group had fallen victim to the Howlers. Despite Nya and Sora's efforts to fend off the curse, their attempts proved to be in vain. Matters only worsened when Sora fell incapacitated at the hands of the Howlers, leaving Zanth with no choice but to unleash a powerful and fiery defense, allowing the group to make a hasty retreat to the safety of Arrakore's sanctum. As they entered, Zanth's warm greeting to Arrakore was met with confusion and astonishment from both Nya and Sora, for Arrakore addressed Zanth by her real name, a fact that caught them off guard.

Arrakore, who was still recovering from the devastation of Djinjago, shared his harrowing tale of survival with Zanth and the rest of the group. Following Arrakore's account of the time he spent in the Pinnacle of Crystals, Zanth cautioned him about the Howlers, who had become invincible in the absence of wish magic following the destruction of Djinjago. When the Howlers finally arrived, Zanth and the rest fought to fend them off. But despite their efforts, the Howlers were too powerful. In a moment of desperation, Zanth implored Arrakore to take action. However, Arrakore was hesitant, feeling powerless and unsure of how to proceed. It wasn't until Arrakore was given a glimmer of hope that he found the strength to fight back. He learned that the reconstruction of Djinjago would also allow him to regain his wish magic. With this knowledge in mind, he summoned all his strength to defeat the Howlers and save his friends. After the battle, Zanth and Jiro settled down to rest, patiently waiting for Arrakore to awaken from his sleep.

They Call It Doom[]

Once Arrakore conjured a arrowhead to guide the Ninja to the Dragon Core, Zanth took off again and landed in the Land of Lost Things where they ran into the Finders and Nya's teammate, Cole.

Land of Lost Things[]

After escaping from the Hoarder, Zanth flew to Rookery with Sora, Fritz, and Spitz on her back. While the Ninja were occupied however, Zanth was ambushed and captured by Dr. LaRow and a force of Imperium Drones upgraded with new force-field projectors. After LaRow and her forces attempted to steal the yellow Dragon Core from the Rookery, Zanth was freed from the force-field by Jiro and subsequently assisted Cole in battling against the Hoarder, tackling it and biting off several pieces of its armor. Cole cheered Zanth on, and while she roared in acknowledgement, the momentary distraction enabled the Hoarder to grab Zanth and hurl her into Cole, briefly incapacitating them both. After Sora defeated the Hoarder, now revealed to be a tiny creature created by LaRow known as Sweeper, Zanth regrouped with her allies and observed the captured Sweeper as Sora explained its origins.

Absolute Power[]

Zanth stood alongside her allies and watched as Sora used her Technology powers to craft weaponized armor for Jiro. After the armor was completed, Zanth moved in closer towards Sora to allow the teenager to climb aboard her back, departing the Land of Lost Things shortly thereafter.

We Are All Dragons[]

Zanth arrived at Imperium alongside Jiro, Nya, Sora, and Riyu. After Jiro disabled the barrier, Zanth ferried her allies to join in on the fight on the ground, landing atop a platoon of Claw Hunters and scattering them. Afterwards, both dragons took on Beatrix in her mech to allow the Ninja to escape with help from the Imperium Teen Resistance Force. Around sunset, Zanth knocked away a Hover chariot and pinned down the Claw Hunter operating it. As she glared at the hunter, Jiro attempted to warn her that Beatrix was behind her, but the warning came too late and Beatrix knocked Zanth out. After defeating Jiro and Zanth, Beatrix ordered the Claws to take both dragons to the Imperium Prison to be drained of their energy while she set off to defeat the Ninja. The Claws however, would never get the chance to deliver the dragons, as they would be confronted not long after by a mob of Imperian citizens, outraged over Beatrix's lies and the truth over their kingdom's treatment of dragons. The mob scared off many of the hunters, hurling rocks at them, and freeing Jiro and Zanth,

The Power Within[]

When Beatrix caused the MergeQuake Storm, Zanth helped Imperians get to shelter. After Beatrix's defeat and the MergeQuake Storm began, Zanth flew alongside the Ninja to the Crossroads to unite all three Dragon Cores. On the journey, the Destiny's Bounty's sails were torn off by the intense strength of the storm, prompting Zanth to enlarge herself and combines with the ship to help steer it to the Crossroads in time. After the storm was thwarted, she, Jiro, and Heatwave had a little race.

Dragons Rising, Season 2[]

The Shape of Motion[]

Some time after Sora and Arin found the wounded Matriarch of the Mountain Dragons and contacted the rest of the Ninja for help, Zanth arrived, ferrying Nya and Lloyd. Following the Matriarch's death, Zanth let out a roar in mourning alongside Heatwave, Riyu, and Wyldfyre.

After the ninja found the Matriarch's baby in her nursing pouch, Zanth, Heatwave, and Riyu led them to the World Forest to find the tribe of the baby dragon, with Zanth ferrying Lloyd, Arin, and Sora. When the group was attacked by the Freebooters during their travel, Zanth was struck in the side by one of the Freebooters' hover chariots before fighting against them alongside her allies. They were finally saved from their attackers by some Mountain Dragons who then escorted them to their nest. Zanth and the group entrusted the baby matriarch to her tribe and returned to the monastery.

Enter the City of Temples[]

Zanth, Jiro, and Heatwave ferried ferried the ninja to the Dragon Stone Shrine to enter the Tournament of the Sources, with Zanth carrying Cole and Zane on her back. After the Ninja were denied entrance, they decided to forcibly enter the City of Temples by flying on the dragons' backs, being confronted by Security Bots in the process. Zanth and her allies fought against the Security Bots, saving Sora after she was thrown off by one of the bots she had attempted to control with her Technology powers. After Jiro suggested to Lloyd for the Ninja to finish climbing to the the city with their Dragon Hooks, Zanth and the other dragons covered for them, with Zanth notably snapping a Security Bot with her jaws. After finishing off the Security Bots, Zanth returned to the Monastery[4] alongside Jiro and Heatwave.

Dragons Rising, Season 3[]

The Missing[]

After Zane figured out where the portal gate transported Arin, Zanth flew Zane, Lloyd, Sora, and Frak, while Riyu flew by himself, to the First Land. Zanth landed in a land in a small neighborhood where she fought Dorama's puppet but she was thrown into a rock. Zane attempted to get the rocks off of Zanth but the puppet attack as Frak pulled out the Blue Prismatic Blade from it's head.

The Ultimate Object of Admiration[]

As Riyu continued to track Arin's trail, Zanth and Zane went in a different direction, due to the cave being too small for her to fit in.

The Great Zane Robbery[]

I Alone Can Save Them[]

Zanth arrived with P.I.X.A.L. and an upgraded Zane to fight off the Dragonian Warriors lead by Zarkt.

Fallen Wishes[]

Zanth stood alongside her allies as they inspected the Blue Prismatic Blade.

Their Draconic Majesty's Request[]

Zanth and her allies used the First Land Monastery's portal gate to return to the Monastery of Spinjitzu.

Chaos Unchained[]

Zanth was in the Dragon stables when Zane and P.I.X.A.L. were working on a device to amplify their Portal gate to get ahead of Drix.

The Hollow Ones[]

Zanth flew with the other dragons; Jiro, Heatwave, and Riyu, around the Temple Bounty to the Wyldness to meet with the Dragon Masters, Rontu and Egalt. There Zanth attended Egalt's passing, wailing with the other dragons, and then go back to Ninjago with the others.

For Whom the Bell Tolls[]

Zanth flies Sora, Frak, and Wyldfyre- accompanied by Riyu- to Djinjago, in an attempt to awaken one half of the Arc Dragon of Focus. She also displayed her ability to go extremely fast, causing her to turn purple, due to Arrakore's regrowth of Djinjago.

When Doves Cry[]

Zanth watch as Arrakore shows her a banner mount which is similar to the one he wielded when the two rode into the Battle of Two Skies. Sora, Frak, Wyldfyre, and Riyu filled Arrakore in on the current situation that they need to get into the Cave of Bells to wake up half of the Arc Dragon of Focus to Thunderfang, who died and went to the Spectral Lands, where his power could also be magnified. Fortunately, Arrakore manage to restore enough of Djinjago so the Cave of Bells is back but there is no half-dragon in it. Arrakore explains that his wish magic isn't very strong enough to bring back living things like the Arc Dragon or his people. So he had to settle for reviving his people's cultural artifacts, like the pottery. Sora thinks his magic need the right motivation like saving the world, and wishes for the Arc Dragon of Focus to be restored, which Arrakore attempts to do but is unable to grant it. Arrakore sees Zanth and thinks with her new boost of Djinjagan magic, if the two work together, the two might have enough power to grant the wish but it will take time and complete concentration, which means no distractions even loud noises that could destroy their focus and ruin the wish.

After Arrakore and Zanth went into the Cave of Bells, Rapton and the Freebooters arrived to steal some treasure. As Arrakore tried to concentrate, he heard noises which unknown to him was Frak, Sora, Wyldfyre, and Riyu were fighting Rapton and the Freebooters from stealing Arrakore's treasure, which Rapton escape stealing a rare Djinjagan unicorn figurine for his collection.

Chaos Reigns[]

As Sora, Frak, Wyldfyre and Riyu exits the Cave of Bells following Thunderfang's ultimate defeat, they stumble upon Zanth resting beside Arrakore.
